Urgent health update: Consequences of war on Gaza and West Bank/East Jerusalem-September 7, 2024
Israeli air, land, & sea bombardment continues across Gaza, causing further civilian casualties, displacement, & destruction of houses & other civilian infrastructure. Ground incursions and heavy fighting continue, especially in Khan Younis, Deir al Balah, Gaza City & Rafah. The extension of the war to the West Bank is extremely alarming. Jenin is once again the epicenter of a massive military offensive, with hundreds of troops, backed by armored vehicles, fighter jets and drones, raiding the city along with Tubas, Tulkarem, and elsewhere. Many of the same tactics used by the Israeli military in 2002 and since are being repeated in this latest assault: killings, arrests, home demolitions, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and attacks on hospitals.

The bombing has continued during the polio vaccine campaign. Where is the media coverage for that?

This includes data on the attacks on healthcare facilities and health workers who have been killed, abducted, tortured, and maimed by Israeli forces during the genocide, and relevant statements by international organizations and healthcare institutions.
Israel Just Killed Another American in the West Bank. Will the U.S. Ever Respond?
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a human rights activist, was protesting an illegal West Bank settlement when she was reportedly shot in the head by Israeli soldiers. Killing of Seattle resident prompted concerns US would not call for an independent investigation.
Compare the media coverage of her death with the sympathetic coverage of the American Israeli hostage who was killed. Not everyone is equal when it comes to death.
The Andaleeb Cartonera publishing project, according to organizers, follows the Latin American model of independent cardboard presses (“cartoneras”), small and alternative publishers that produce low-cost, handcrafted books using recycled cardboard. Truth Tellers is a powerful documentary film about Robert Shetterly and the people he has painted who are working for social and political change.

YouTube has just placed a punitive freeze on The Electronic Intifada’s channel, alleging that several previous livestream segments violated their opaque “community guidelines.”
