March is Women's History Month, and I would like to start by acknowledging, saluting, and honoring Palestinian women for their immense contributions to the liberation movement for a free Palestine. We also remember and mourn all the women poets, writers, artists, journalists, and aid workers killed by the Israeli bombardment in Gaza over the past 155 days. We salute the women of Gaza for their struggle and resilience and, above all, for the humanity they have shown us during their daily fight for their families’ lives amid the horrific deprivation of food, safe drinking water, and healthcare that is being imposed on the people of Gaza. We salute the mothers who are forced to skip meals so they can feed their children, the mothers who carry their babies in their wombs only to have to carry them again to their burial ground, the pregnant mothers who have no safe place to give birth and no access to clean water, and the mothers who have watched their children being gunned down during the Israeli flour massacres. And we salute all the women who are protesting, speaking out, and raising their voices to demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to oppression, apartheid, and occupation. We are with you with every breath and every heartbeat.

While the Israeli military has destroyed the entire university system in Gaza, killed and arrested professors, the Israeli government is suppressing dissent in Israel. Genocide meets McCarthysim.
