Israel’s Military Campaign Has Left Gaza’s Medical System Near Collapse
Help Nabil's family to evacuate from Gaza
Nabil Abughanima is an extremely talented artist who was living in Gaza City before the war. He had been working on a graphic novel with me about the Shuafat Refugee Camp in Jerusalem. I had the opportunity to meet him in person when I was in Gaza in August, 2023. He and his wife, Wissam, and their three young children, have been displaced for months, and the house they rented suffered damage from a nearby bombing, scattering broken glass into their house. They are raising funds to leave Gaza. Please be generous. Thank you.
On MSNBC, the head of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Jonathan Greenblatt, called Jewish Voice for Peace and Students for Justice in Palestine “campus proxies” for the government of Iran.
This is the kind of dangerous smear campaign the ADL has done for decades, conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism. Now they are lobbying Congress to pass a law adopting a controversial, dangerous definition of antisemitism. Write to your congressperson now and say NO to the so-called “Anti-semitism Awareness Act”

This passover, my family and friends shared a liberation seder, with readings, poetry and song focused on ancient ritual and modern struggles like white supremacy and racism in America, genocide in Gaza, refugees, and more....
On the seder plate;
STAR OF DAVID
We add the Star of David to reclaim this symbol, to celebrate the prophetic traditions within Judaism, the historical commitments to justice and uplifting the oppressed and afflicting the powerful, and to remind ourselves that tribalism and a belief in our own unique suffering and privilege have no place in our vision for the future we wish to create.
Expanding the list of plagues:
The Plague of Zionism
The Star of David is a powerful Jewish symbol, evoking the ancient story of King David, who was known as both a warrior and writer of psalms. Today the Star has become the symbol of the State of Israel and its powerful army, a symbol of political Zionism and Jewish supremacy. Let us acknowledge that Zionism as practiced in the modern era inherently involves the dispossession, expulsion, and maltreatment of Palestinians. Jewish nationalism has come at the expense of Palestinian humanity, with racist and genocidal Israeli policies. Our liberation is intimately tied to justice for all.
Elijah's cup
Today, we cannot just passively sit and await Elijah’s return. Let us, like Elijah, be moved to action to bring about a world of peace and justice. Let us shed our garments of privilege and ease, our bellies full, our nights free from the sounds of drones and bombs, to challenge the elected and the powerful who are blind to the suffering of hungry children, wounded freedom fighters, pregnant women and the sick without health care. Let us place their needs and liberation in the forefront of our minds and our deeds.
In the words of the poet and activist, Aurora Levins Morales:
This time we're tied at the ankles.
We cannot cross until we carry each other,
all of us refugees, all of us prophets.
No more taking turns on history's wheel,
trying to collect old debts no-one can pay.
The sea will not open that way.
This time that country
is what we promise each other,
our rage pressed cheek to cheek
until tears flood the space between,
until there are no enemies left,
because this time no one will be left to drown
and all of us must be chosen.
This time it's all of us or none.
Yes, it is genocide
Yes, it is a genocide, an essay by Amos Goldberg, an Israeli Holocaust and genocide researcher at the Hebrew University, whose book VeZcharta — And Thou Shalt Remember: Five Critical Readings in Israeli Holocaust Remembrance will be published by Resling in the coming weeks.
Solidarity in Action: Healing our Injured Humanity Through Global Activism
"As a Palestinian psychiatrist witnessing the recent surge of student activism in universities throughout the United States in solidarity with Palestine and also observing the local Palestinian reaction to it, I am struck by the profound therapeutic potential inherent in such movements. At a time when the Palestinian people continue to endure the brutal realities of occupation, apartheid, and violence inflicted by the Israeli state, the unwavering support from young activists across the globe serves as a breath of life, relieving our strangulation under unprecedented Israeli oppression."
We are occupying Emory University to demand immediate divestment from Israel and Cop City
An excellent call from Emory University demanding divestment from Israel and against the building of Cop City. This makes clear the intersectional relationships:
“At its core, the fight against Cop City is interconnected with global movements against oppressive state practices, most notably the Palestinian struggle for liberation from illegal occupation, apartheid, and systemic violence. The parallels extend deeper into the mechanisms of oppression, where the tactics employed to suppress dissent in Atlanta echo those used globally, facilitated by significant international collaboration in policing and surveillance.”
